| Discussion | Previous literature has reported partial and complete resolution of Warthin's tumor following fine needle aspiration or core needle biopsy. The etiology of spontaneous infarction post core biopsy is unknown; however, one theory is that core biopsies can sever a lesion-feeding artery, resulting in the immediate loss of tissue perfusion. This theory could explain the iatrogenic infarction demonstrated in this case, although it remains unconfirmed. |
