| Discussion | Chondrosarcoma 1. Introduction Slow-growing invasive cartilaginous tumors, and they usually have a high grade of malignancy. Head and neck region: unusual site for a chondrosarcoma - Jaw bones, paranasal sinuses, nasal cavity, and maxilla - Chondrosarcomas arising in the nasal septum are extremely rare 2. Radiologic findings CT - Lobulated, hypoattenuating matrix, typical pattern of calcifications (amorphous, punctate, large) - Associated bone eron or destruction MR - Hypo/isointense on T1, markedly hyperintense on T2, and characteristic rim and septal enhancement - Ring and arc pattern of enhancement: fibrovascular bundles surrounding the cartilaginous nodules |
