| Discussion | Neurobehcet disease - Chronic idiopathic replasing-remitting multisystem inflammatory vascular disease - 20-25% patients suffer from CNS involvement. - affects young adult (male predominance) - Parenchymal neurobehcet : meningoencephalitis with brainstem, hemisphere, spinal cord lesion - No parenchymal neurobehcet : dural sinus thrombosis, arterial occlusion, and/or aneurysm Imaging - Brain stem involvement (cerebral peduncle), 50% - Thalamus and basal ganglia (2nd m/c) - Cicular, linear, crescent, or irregular T2/FLAIR hyperintense foci - Minimal mass effect (but significant mass effect can occur in acute phase) - Mild to moderate patchy enhancement |
