| Discussion | CNS vasculitis (lymphohistiocytic venulitis with occasional fibrin thrombi) • Characterized by nonatheromatous inflammation and necrosis of blood vessel walls, both arteries, veins may be affected • Clinical issue • M/C sign and symptom: stroke related manifestations of vascular involvement • Most patients are treated aggressively with combination of steroids, immunosuppressive medications • Imaging findings • Multifocal T2/FLAIR high signal intensities • Can see diffusion restrictive lesion in acute stage • May see patchy areas of parenchymal enhancement |
