| Discussion | Optic disc drusen, or hyaline bodies is usually found incidentally on CT or on follow-up of abnormal fundoscopy. *Epidemiology - 0.3-3.7% on radiography - frequently bilateral - can be familial and inherited as a dominant trait *Clinical presentation - most cases are asymptomatic - may present episodic visual loss *Imaging features vary in size from less than 1 mm to up to 4 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness. CT - childhood: small and non-mineralized rarely identified - elderly patient: mineralization visible on radiography. |
