Discussion AIDS related primary CNS lymphoma
• Primary CNS lymphoma has increased to 6% among AIDS patients
– Second most common cerebral mass lesion in AIDS patients
• Almost always of B-cell, non-Hodgkins type
• Likely related to EBV
• Immunodeficient patients with PCNSL are often diagnosed with multifocal lesions

• Imaging findings
– Commonly irregular or peripheral, and ring-like enhancement is reported in up to 75% of cases
– Tends to involve gray and white matter, is associated with leptomeningeal thickening
• Basal ganglia and corpus callosum are frequently involved
– Spontaneous hemorrhage and necrosis may be more frequent
