Discussion Reinforcement with circumferential wrapping using muslin gauze (cotton gauze)
known to produce a dense fibrotic reaction, thus strengthening fragile vessel walls.
Muslinoma : mass formation resulted from foreign body reactions
Image findings
Muslinoma
-CET1 : multiple conglomerated rim-enhancing masses around the surgical clips
-T2WI or FLAIR : relative hypointensity, Extensive vasogenic edema surrounding a muslinoma
-DWI : no hyperintensity
-on and follow-up MR images usually show improvement
Accompanied arachnoiditis or an intracranial abscess : entrapped CSF spaces with thin rim enhancement with high signal intensity on DW images.
