Diagnosis Malignant lymphoma, NK/T-cell type
Clinical information C.C: periorbital swelling (onset: 4 weeks)
Discussion Malignant lymphoma, NK/T-cell type
 Extranodal nasal type natural killer / T-cell lymphoma (NKTL) is a distinctive clinical entity that is now categorized as a subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma
 Predilection for Asian & South Americans, 9-12% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas in Korea
 74.1% of NKTL arising in the nasal cavity & paranasal sinus in Koreans
 Wide range of age, peak at 6th decade
 Imaging features of NKTL have been nonspecific for years, and differentiation between chronic inflammatory disease or other tumorous condition in the sinonasal cavity has been regarded as impossible
 Imaging findings:
 Diffuse tumor infiltration along the walls or mass lesion in nasal cavity
 Simultaneous involvement of naso/oropharynx
 Tumor extension into adjacent soft-tissue structures with little bone destruction on CECT
 Regional or systemic nodal enlargement rare
 Heterogeneous / variable contrast enhancement
 Low to intermediate SI on T2 (higher than that of muscle but lower than sinonasal mucosa)/Homogeneous T1 SI similar or slightly higher than muscle
