| Discussion | Radiologic Dx: Semantic Dementia REVIEW Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by the progressive loss of cerebral tissue in the frontal and anterior temporal lobes. 1) frontotemporal dementia (FTD): the progressive development of behavioral problems, including changes in personal and social conduct, emotional blunting, and loss of insight 2) semantic dementia (SemD): anomia and progressive loss of knowledge about words and objects 3) progressive nonfluent aphasia (PA): hesitant, nonfluent speech.
